“Positive thinking is a mental attitude in which you expect good and favourable results. In other words, positive thinking is the process of creating thoughts that create and transform energy into reality. ”
Positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve one’s physical health.
Research Shows that Positive thoughts can actually create real value in your life and help you build skills that stay for a lifetime.
As I come across all these positive thinking quotes and my day to day life, I have started believing that most of my positive thoughts have been reflected by this universe to help me lead a balanced life. I have tried to gain insights into my thoughts and strive to stay physically, mentally and spiritually a healthy person.
Our thoughts create our actions. Having a positive thought creates a positive solution and problems seem to fade away. As your thought process changes, you gear yourself towards thinking positively and you start creating an environment with positive vibes.
This, in turn, leads you to have every situation as a favourable situation and every human being you come in contact with as a positive human being, ready to support and help.
I started creating positive thoughts by implementing some useful techniques and I hope they help you as well. Here are a few simple things that you can practice to bring in that positive energy to your life.
- Think about 3 positive things happened in your day: Every night before going to bed, think and introspect on 3 positive things that have occurred in your day which made you happy. Simple things like someone giving you a compliment or having lunch with an old friend or anything that brought a smile on your face.
- Observe your thoughts even if it is only for 10 minutes: Spend 10 minutes of your day, to say the least, To watch your negative thoughts. If any negative thought is bothering you, try to solve the problem rather than to go along with it. For example, you are unhappy with your child’s learning, go and talk to the teachers/ facilitator about how to improve his/her learning.
- Surround yourself with positive people: It only makes sense that you would surround yourself with people who inspire, empower and motivate you. Emotions are contagious, so stay with positive people.
- Be Grateful: Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools for being positive. It makes you more optimistic and makes your life more rewarding. Keeping a gratitude journal is a great start but sharing and voicing your gratitude is really beneficial. Thanking your helper for all the small works done or simply asking your partner at night, ‘how was your day today?’ will make you feel good.
- Be Helpful: Being helpful and show kindness, it boosts your happiness. Donating money or books, helping someone to show the way, or volunteering for charity are few acts of kindness. These helpful deeds you do bring positive thoughts for happiness.
- Subconscious Inner healing: Sometimes in order to become more positive, we have to uncover and then release the past negative experiences that we’ve been holding onto. Exercises like tapping, daily affirmations, neuro-linguistic programs and mirror work can help you discover and heal these wounds.
- Take care of your Mind and Body: Eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables which gives nourishment to your body. Exercise for at least 20 minutes daily to keep you physically fit and practice Mindfulness through yoga and meditation.
- Make Time to do something you Love: The action doesn’t matter. Just make sure you love it. It may be reading, cooking, playing a sport, going to the movies or picking up a new hobby. Try to set aside an hour a day by setting boundaries that will free up a little time to something that gives you genuine happiness. For me, I restarted oil- painting after a lapse of 20 years and I simply love doing it. It is one of the best positive thoughts I have had.
Positivity is contagious, once you learn to live life with a positive attitude you can never go back to your old self. Try it out, You will know for yourself!
